Vodafone to increase Irish workforce to 2,000 in latest recruitment drive
Vodafone Ireland has announced the creation of 60 new technology and digital specialist positions over the next year to 18 months, bringing their total number of employees in Ireland to 2,000.
Already, 25 of these new roles have been filled this year to date following significant investment from the company in its IT infrastructure and customer management platforms.
Vodafone makes its move as the demand for skilled IT professionals, especially in cloud based services, are on the rise as more businesses move to a full range of cloud and customer communication technologies.
With this investment on IT infrastructure, senior and specialist roles include positions in digital product management, UX and design, agile techniques, and web and JavaScript development.
Vodafone announced a €7 million investment last August, which ensured the provision of data centre services for its business and public sector customers in Ireland, as part of the expansion of its Cloud and Hosting business across Europe.
Madalina Suceveanu, chief technology officer at Vodafone Ireland, says: “In order to maintain our leadership position and deliver a world-class telecoms infrastructure and a superior product for our customers, we must continue to invest in technology, our digital platforms and in our people.
“This is a great time to join Vodafone, when our company is pioneering a gigabit society for Ireland and where the latest technologies are being leveraged to provide our customers with an excellent web and mobile experience. “
