Slack to create 80 jobs at new Dublin hub
Slack is to create 80 jobs in Dublin over the next two years, bringing its workforce to 180 employed in Dublin. The company is set to move to a bigger office in the capital.
The new roles will be in customer experience and account management.
Slack announced last May that it was opening its European headquarters in Dublin, and would be creating 100 jobs in the process. However, the rapidly growing company is now planning to take on a further 80 people due to strong demand.
The growth coincides with the company’s move to a 29,000 square foot office space in One Park Place in Dublin city centre which can accommodate the extra staff.
The workplace messaging platform has 2.7 million active daily users, employs 430 around the world and has raised $540m in funding from some of the world’s best recognised technology investors. The company is said to be worth $3.8 billion, despite being just three years old.
James Sherrett, Slack’s Dublin-based senior manager of accounts said, “Our user base grew tenfold last year and we’re seeing strong demand across all industries and from businesses of all sizes, for more efficient and effective team communications.”
The new investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland and has been welcomed by Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton and IDA boss Martin Shanahan.
