Primeline Group to open €50 million distribution hub
Primeline Group, Ireland’s largest independent provider of logistics and route to market solutions to some of the world’s leading brands, is to create 400 new jobs across a range of disciplines, with the opening of a €50 million distribution hub in County Meath. The new development is the largest Irish-owned net zero energy building compliant distribution centre at 360,000 sq ft in size and is located at Primeline Group’s headquarters at Ashbourne Business Park.
Primeline Group is already County Meath’s largest employer and employs a total of 1,100 colleagues across its operations. The new development, which is three times the size of the Croke Park pitch, will add to the company’s footprint which currently spans over 1 million sq feet across ten industrial units in Ireland and the UK.
CEO of Primeline Group Tim Cummins is confident of securing high-quality customers for the new hub:“I’m proud to lead a team with decades of collective experience which gives us invaluable insights into future demands and opportunities within our market. The development of this Hub along with our investment in new technologies, is a product of careful planning and strategy and is also a symbol of the vision we have for Primeline Group. I’m very much looking forward to working with our customers whose business will also benefit from engaging with our fantastic colleagues at our state-of-the-art facilities.”
CEO of Enterprise Ireland Leo Clancy says Primeline Group’s growth is an excellent example of the potential for Irish business: “This company’s success is rooted in their ability to deliver on a first-class customer experience while also keeping an eye to the future of where the growth opportunities lie. A key goal for Enterprise Ireland is to support companies to make the transition to the low-carbon, resource-efficient economy of the future and we are delighted to work with Tim, Danny and the team to support them on advancing their sustainability plans for the company. I would like to congratulate Primeline on the significant expansion announcement in Ashbourne and wish them the very best with this impressive net zero hub.”
Primeline Group’s fleet of vehicles makes over 25,000 deliveries to more than 7,500 outlets around Ireland each week. The Group has developed its logistics network to ensure it covers every town in Ireland every day. Its sales colleagues call on more than 3,000 retail outlets monthly.
Chief People & Culture Officer at Primeline Group Nikki Mullin outlines the kind of roles which will be available at the new facility: “We are currently recruiting for a variety of positions across IT, Operations & Sales for this state-of-the-art facility. We are always keen to engage with colleagues whose values are aligned to ours and who prioritise their dedication to teamwork, great communication and a can-do attitude so that, together, we deliver a World Class Customer Experience. We are super proud of the brilliantly diverse team we have and at the core of our colleague offering is our commitment to creating a flexible & supportive environment where colleagues can be at their best day in day out.”
The new hub was designed to minimise the impact on the surrounding area of its energy use, in line with Primeline Group’s determination to play its part in addressing environmental concerns. As a net zero energy building compliant facility, the building respects local targets for energy use and uses all renewable energy sources.
Hiring for the new hub is underway and more information on the company and roles on offer is available via the company’s website.
