Primark opens its second store in the US
Penney’s has opened its second US store in Philadelphia, under the brand name Primark.
The store, located at the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania follows the opening of its Boston flagship outlet in September.
The new store was opened by Irish Ambassador to the US, Dr Anne Anderson. The spacious store includes 93 fitting rooms, 58 cash registers and eight customer service registers.
Commenting on the opening, Primark chief executive Paul Marchant said: “We are thrilled to launch our second US store in such a premier retail location as the King of Prussia Mall”.
“Our first mall opening comes with added excitement as we approach the holiday shopping season with our offering of amazing fashion at amazing prices for all the family”.
Primark has announced plans for a further six stores across Northeast America in the next year, including Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Staten Island.
Primark opened its first store in Dublin in 1969 under the name Penneys and today operates in 297 stores across 10 countries.
