Ireland’s unemployment continues fall to 8.6% in March

New figures released from the Central Statistics Office today show that the unemployment rate continued its steady fall in March, slipping to 8.6% from 8.8% in February.
The CSO said that the seasonally adjusted number of persons unemployed last month stood at 187,700, down 2,900 when compared to the February figure.
Today’s figures also reveal that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 10.2% for males, down from 11.2% in March of last year.
Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for females in March 2016 was 6.7%, down from 8.1% in March 2015.
The CSO figures show that the seasonally adjusted youth unemployment rate stood 19% in March, down from 20% in February 2016.
