brexit-eu-referendum The business sector in Ireland is preparing for the blows that the economy will face after hearing the results of the Brexit vote.

According to Ibec, this decision has placed Europe in a time of uncertainty that the Irish Government, banks, and EU institutions must work through to maintain stability.

Ibec’s chief executive, Danny McCoy is strongly pushing for Ireland’s involvement in the negotiations concerning the terms of Britain’s departure from the EU. Due to specific economic concerns that will arise in Ireland because of the Brexit makes Ireland’s voice vital in these negotiations.

Because the UK is Ireland’s leading trading partner, Irish businesses are preparing for the impact the Brexit will have on international trade, and the Dublin Chamber is seeking Government reassurance that businesses will be protected in the negotiations.

The Irish  Farmers Association also wants to address concerns regarding the agricultural sector as this vote will affect their trading relationship with Northern Ireland and the UK as well as the EU budget.
