Government meeting bids to create 10,000 jobs in IFSC
The Government is planning to convene its first European Financial Forum at Dublin Castle in January as part of a plan to create 10,000 jobs in the IFSC in the next five years.
Speaking about the meeting Simon Harris, Minister of State at the Department of Finance said the plan was to bring together high-level figures in funds, asset management, insurance, banking and fintech with senior regulators and policymakers.
He added that, The aim is to establish the forum, on January 27th, as an annual event. Its scheduling provides an opportunity to open the year with discussion and debate on the current and future challenges confronting this most globalised of sectors.
Speakers attending the meeting will include figures from insurers AIG and AXA, ING Bank, Bank of England and the European Banking Authority.
