Glassdoor_logo100 positions are to be created in Dublin by US jobs and recruitment website Glassdoor.

Glassdoor allows employees to post reviews of their employer which can then be examined by jobseekers.

The company, which plans to open an office here in January, is also launching an Irish version of the site for jobseekers here.

Glassdoor International head Diarmuid Russell said that the company wanted to find a base in Europe that it could grow in, “that would have access to the talent that we want to help us sell both into the UK and Ireland, but also to more broadly sell into the whole of Western Europe over time.”

“Globally there’s been a big strengthening of people looking for the top talent, and people definitely have more choices now then they had a year or 18 months ago in terms of where they choose to go and work,” Mr Russell said.

IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan said talent is “the number one reason why companies choose to come to Ireland.”

“Glassdoor has a great understanding of this. This launch from Glassdoor forms part of their investment plan for Ireland. We welcome their plans to open an office in Dublin in January 2016 and wish them continued growth and success,” he added.

The company was set up in 2008 and has raised $160m from investors including Google Capital. It has 34 million registered users in 190 countries around the globe and eight country-specific websites.

It will see 100 people recruited in areas like sales, marketing and customer support over the next three years, with hiring already under way.
