After having worked together for years across the globe, GEA Process Engineering has announced the acquisition of Scan-Vibro from Svendborg in Denmark. The acquisition is a perfect match and the plan is to further grow and develop the company and its business using the synergies achievable through being a part of the GEA organisation.

Scan-Vibro has been a long-time partner and supplier to GEA Process Engineering on several projects around the globe. Last year Scan-Vibro was a supplier to the world’s largest spray dryer installation completed by GEA Process Engineering in New Zealand. Therefore, the two companies are not complete strangers to each other. Both companies feel that this acquisition will enable them to grow and meet rising demands in the market more efficiently.

“It’s a great pleasure for us to announce the acquisition of Scan-Vibro which is a perfect partner for GEA Process Engineering and a company we have been working with for years,” says Niels-Erik Olsen, Managing Director of GEA Process Engineering operations in Soeborg. “The technology of Scan-Vibro fits well into our global offering and we look forward to developing Scan-Vibro further.

“This is really a good day for Scan-Vibro,” says Steen Larsen, Managing Director and former Co-owner of Scan-Vibro. “By joining the GEA family we can exploit the synergies of being a part of a large global organisation and thereby grow Scan-Vibro which will be to the advantage for both the company, our employees and our customers.”

The acquisition of Scan-Vibro is an important step in the growth strategy of GEA Process Engineering. In the current business environment the company sees a rising demand for turn-key installations and the ability to supply complete dairy installations.

“We are certain that this acquisition will benefit GEA Process Engineering in the years to come,” comments Niels Erik Olsen. “But it will most definitely also benefit Scan-Vibro as our overall plan is to expand and grow the company and its offering. We see great potential in both the company and its skilled employees and we are looking forward to working with them.”

The vibration technology of Scan-Vibro is the last technology in powder processing that now becomes a part of GEA’s scope of supply. For many years, GEA has been the leading supplier of complete processing lines and the Scan-Vibro vibration technology will complete the picture and thereby further strengthen GEA’s global leadership position within food drying systems.

While GEA will continue to support and develop all the market segments that Scan-Vibro currently is serving, all customers will be taken care of with the same respect and same conditions as previously and the necessary means will be taken to protect customer confidentiality.

In future, the company will operate under the brand name GEA Scan-Vibro.
