European First For Irish Food Company
Irish organic food company Just Food, has launched an innovative new range of soups, HiLo, which is the first high protein, low fat soup to be marketed in Europe. The Cork-based company has been a pioneer in the highly dynamic fresh soup category.
Just Food was the first Irish soup company to produce chunky, pulse and veg packed soups, containing 3 or your 5 a day. Last year the company won a significant contract to supply to the international, Belgian-based organic supermarket chain, Bio-Planet.
Just Food’s premium, fresh HiLo range will arrive on shelves from 25 November onwards, in supermarkets throughoutIrelandincluding Dunnes nationwide, selected Tesco stores, Super Valu and several quality independent stores.
Deirdre Hilliard, who, with her husband Kevin, founded Just Food in 2004, is passionate about healthy, nutrient rich wholefoods and is very excited about this new range, which was over a year in development: “Our new HiLo range is in response to the growing need from health-conscious consumers for higher protein, lower fat, yet completely natural food solutions. We are very excited that into this competitive market, our Irish food business is leading the way.”
The soups, which come in 400g packs, feature wholesome superfoods such as spinach and broccoli in Super Greens soup (108 kcal), black beans and quinoa in Bean & Quinoa soup (244kcal), and green beans and squash in Thai Spiced Vegetable soup (132kcal). A key ingredient of the soups is fresh organic chicken stock, made from scratch. A vegetarian option will be released in the New Year.
