Data Solutions’ 5th annual Secure Computing Forum
DataSolutions, the specialist IT solutions distributor, is set to host its fifth annual Secure Computing Forum in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Thursday, 21st September. The Secure Computing Forum is one of Ireland’s largest dedicated information security events, and more than 300 IT and business professionals are expected to attend this year.
New additions to the rota of speakers at this year’s forum include Tony Sales, a former criminal once dubbed ‘Britain’s greatest fraudster’ and now a fraud and loss prevention advisor to some of the biggest names in banking, retail and insurance. Tony will discuss his own experiences defrauding companies, his subsequent time in prison, and how he turned his life around to put his criminal know-how to positive use as a fraud prevention expert. Cybersecurity expert Oleh Derevianko, head of Information Systems Security Partners, will also speak at the event.
This year’s forum will also feature a dedicated GDPR panel discussion to advise Irish companies on how they should approach this complex area and outline the steps that they need to take towards achieving compliance to the legislation. Linda Hynes, head of employment and data protection at Leman Solicitors and GDPR Awareness Coalition ambassador; and Brendan Dowling, CEO, Consumer Data Protection are among those who will participate in the discussion.
2017 has seen rapid growth in cyber-attacks, as well as an increase in the scale and sophistication of threats being levelled against individuals and companies. Irish organisations must evolve to remain one step ahead of these developing threats.
Data Solutions’ Secure Computing Forum will aim to foster dialogue amongst key security players in Ireland and provide best-practice advice to companies seeking to defend their interests from cybercrime.
This year’s forum will once again be hosted by David Keating, Data Solutions’ own head of security. Event attendees will be able to avail of the opportunity to network with senior IT decision-makers and other professionals, and gain valuable insights into key information security trends.

This year’s event will include a full exhibition area where attendees will have the opportunity to interact with leading IT vendors such as Check Point, RSA, Aruba, Citrix, Amazon Web Services, F5 and Strencom.
