The beermaker Anheuser-Busch InBev NV is looking to sell the Peroni and Grolsch brands as it works to gain regulatory clearance over its planned acquisition of the world’s second largest brewer.

The sale of the brands and their related businesses in Italy, the Netherlands and Britain would be conditional on AB InBev acquiring SABMiller in a cash and share offer currently worth some $108 billion.

AB InBev said it was also looking to sell London-based Meantime Brewing Company given its focus on premium beers.

“Like the previously announced disposal of the (US) Miller business to Molson Coors, these steps reflect AB InBev’s pro-active approach to addressing potential regulatory concerns,” AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, said in a statement.

Grolsch was founded in 1615 and since the “Guild Master” Peter Cuijper took over in 1678, has been characterized by a visionary and non-conformist approach to brewing and packaging, making it a beer that stands out. Grolsch uses its own yeast strain, which is called 1615, and is brewed using a selection of the finest two row European summer barley.

Peroni has been produced with care, competence and passion since 1846, always following the original recipe and using the best ingredients. The great taste, clean aftertaste and inimitable freshness provide the satisfaction and the pleasure that comes from a great Italian beer.
