Local businesses benefit from Invest NI lunch & learn events
Almost 40 businesses from Newry, Mourne & Down District Council area have taken vital steps to grow their businesses by participating in Invest Northern Ireland’s Lunch & Learn workshops held recently in Newry. The Lunch & Learn series offers guidance on a range of critical business topics, from Research & Development and innovation, to boosting supply chain resilience and embracing digital transformation.
Highlighting the value of Lunch & Learn workshops to the local economy, John McKibben, Invest NI’s Southern Regional Manager said: “Our Lunch & Learn series has been specifically designed to empower businesses across the Southern region by offering valuable networking opportunities, expert insights, and direct access to industry leaders. Each session aims to help businesses sharpen their competitive edge, enhance operational efficiency, and discover new growth pathways. Michelle McKevitt, Company Secretary at Newry based McGuinness Mechanical Engineering Ltd, attended the latest workshop which focused on helping businesses build resilience and increase profitability in their supply chain. Michelle said: “Since 2019, McGuinness Mechanical has greatly benefitted from Invest NI’s support, from trade assistance to improving our supply chain. Through its Leader programme, we’ve developed a comprehensive growth plan with confidence and now employ 40 staff.
“Today’s workshop offered valuable insights on cost reduction, supply chain efficiency, and competitiveness. It was also a great opportunity to network with local businesses.
