Megalift Ltd, the Irish-owned manufacturer of heavy lift equipment for the transport and logistics industry, has announced over 10 new jobs and a significant expansion of its operations. This new expansion is set to include a substantial 30,000 sq ft development alongside its existing manufacturing facility in Ballinode, County Monaghan.

These 10 new jobs will include a diverse range of roles to include fabricators, fitters and design engineers. These new skilled jobs, which are due to the increasing demand for Megalift’s products, will help strengthen employment in the local area.

The new 30,000 sq. ft facility at Megalift’s headquarters in Ballinode is key to the company’s growth to increase production to accommodate on-going global demand. This new space will also enable the company to have a dedicated R&D department.

The new jobs will be created over the next 12 months, and development on the new facility is expected to commence this June.

Meredith Hall, Managing Director, Megalift Ltd said: “We are delighted to announce this major new investment and expansion of our operations. The company has grown from strength to strength since its setup in 2017 and this significant investment just reaffirms our commitment to the industry.

“We are now entering a new phase of development which will help us increase our output to meet the demands of our customers worldwide. By the end of 2023, we plan to have doubled our capacity from 40 machines to 80 machines per annum. We look forward to bringing our operations to the next exciting chapter.”

Alan Hobbs, Department Manager for Industrial and Life Sciences, HPSU, at Enterprise Ireland, commented: “Supporting Irish-owned companies to achieve greater scale and expand their global footprint is an ongoing priority for Enterprise Ireland. We are committed to fostering regional economic development and supporting entrepreneurs all around the country. Companies like Megalift are economic cornerstones in their regions, and we look forward to continuing to support Meredith and Laura, and all the team, as they progress on their scaling journey.”

Meredith Hall added: “Enterprise Ireland has been an important part of Megalift’s journey to date, and we are excited to continue to work with them as we continue to grow and scale our operations.”
