Equinix appoints Kevin O’Connor as Channel Manager in Ireland
Interconnection and data centre company Equinix has announced the appointment of Kevin O’Connor as channel manager for Ireland. Kevin will be responsible for the management of Equinix Ireland’s channel business – helping channel partners enhance their existing offerings with Equinix’s interconnection and cloud solutions.
Kevin will help partners offer their customers truly hybrid cloud solutions through the deployment of existing private cloud offerings in an Equinix IBX data centre, while facilitating access to a wide range of cloud providers through Equinix Cloud Exchange.
With more than 15 years of experience in the data centre and telecommunications industries, Kevin will use his knowledge and expertise to enhance Equinix’s channel partner ecosystem with new reseller and referral partners.
Prior to joining Equinix, Kevin worked for Sungard Availability Services for nine years, where most recently he was Head of Channel Ireland. Kevin was also sales director for Irish start-up TeamDBA for three years and before that, he was corporate account manager for Eircom Net for three years. He holds an MSc in Electronic Commerce (Business) from Dublin City University and a certificate in Professional Sales Practice from Dublin Institute of Technology.

Kevin’s appointment reflects Equinix’s growing influence in the Irish market, as well as the increasing diversity of its business solutions. Earlier this year, Equinix Cloud Exchange was launched in Ireland. The advanced interconnection solution enables digital transformation by providing enterprises with direct connectivity to leading cloud service providers globally.
