Graduates pick KPMG as most desirable company to work for
A GradIreland report has highlighted the 100 companies that Irish graduates want to work for most with KPMG taking top spot, and three financial services in the top 10.
The desirability of KPMG has improved considerably on its 14th spot last year with other climbers into the top 10 including Lidl Ireland (4th), Pfizer (7th) and Boston Scientific (10th). Google was knocked off its position as last year’s top employer for graduates and now occupies third. PwC in 2nd and Accenture in 5th round up the top five.
Bank of Ireland and AIB also made significant gains, as did Aldi, Intel, Glanbia and Aer Lingus. Facebook, Microsoft and the HSE all dropped out of the top 20.
The pharmaceutical industry was well represented in the top 50, with Pfizer, GSK, Johnson and Johnson, Eli Lilly, Biomarin and Allergan all included.
Overall, interest in working in the public sector has increased considerably while employers are hiring significantly more graduates in 2016 than in any of the last four years.
The opinions of 7,460 Irish students were used in the findings.
