160 technology jobs for Galway, Cork
160 jobs have been announced by technology companies in Galway and Cork.
Two technology companies in Galway, Ice Cube and Tec Support, have announced they will merge and their planned expansion will include the creation of up to 100 jobs over the next three years.
Another two technology companies, meanwhile, have announced the creation of 60 jobs in Cork city and county.
California-based Hortonworks is opening offices in the city and recruiting 50 staff in the areas of technology support, finance, HR, marketing, IT and operations.
Hortonworks distributes and supports freely-downloadable software for storing, analysing and managing large amounts of data.
The company was founded in 2012 and already employs 800 people. It operates in 16 countries worldwide.
Separately, Irish technology company Fortuity is to double in size by hiring ten staff at its offices at Carrigtwohill in Co Cork.
The company operates in the areas of cloud, data analytics and security.
